We are new here at The Old Crown Coaching Inn
We love hospitality. From our interior, the music and ambience, the food, the service to the people, music and the art. We at The Westbrook Pub Company loot at the small detail that makes our guests enjoy a wonderful experience. From a great place to stay, eat or just to while away the hours, The Old Crown Coaching Inn is the place to be.
We started life in the early 16th century as a coaching Inn, built on the site of an early Hostelry, and was re-fronted in Georgian times. The Inn has since indulged in a few modern touches to help complete your stay.
There is an original courtyard, from which there is a fine example of an Elizabethan external stairway called the Judges staircase, which was access to the Manorial courts which sat in the courtroom on the first floor, now a hotel room named suitably named The Courtroom (our suite room).
Today, The Old Crown Coaching Inn has a extensive offering. During lunchtime, you can enjoy a light bite or meal from our lunch menu in our traditional bar, or you can sit in our beautiful & historic cobbled courtyard enjoying the best of the British weather. In the evenings (and Sunday lunch) our Ballroom opens, our fine-dining restaurant.
In the Ballroom you can enjoy terrific food carefully crafted with an innovative twist on fine dining. Samuel Squires, our Head Chef, has worked in many top restaurants during his career, including the 5-star Grove Hotel in Watford, The Ritz in London, and the 3 Michelin-starred private restaurant, Remy. Until recently, Sam was head chef at Hibiscus, Northampton, the AA rosette-awarded restaurant. Whilst at Hibiscus, Sam was named 'Chef of the Year' at the Weetabix Food & Drinks Awards.
