Buscot Park

Buscot Park was laid out in the 1780s in the English Landscape style to provide a naturalistic setting for the late eighteenth century Palladian style house. The famous Water Garden was added in 1904 by Sir Alexander Henderson, later the 1st Lord Faringdon, who commissioned the architect and garden designer Harold Peto to create a link between the house and the Big Lake. Buscot Park consists essentially of a series of stairways, formal lawns, pools and basins interlinked by a descending canal complete with a fountain, rills, miniature cascades and a bridge all flanked by box hedges sheltering antique statuary and stone seats.

Enjoy the refreshments in the Tea Room or an intimate theatre experience in the East Pavilion, Buscot Park has something for everyone.
