As if that weren't enough, the inn's historical tapestry goes even further, with the notorious Hanging Judge Jeffreys using its hallowed halls as one of his courtrooms.

Sore heels and weary eyes is often the only downside to a day filled with frills and fillies! Therefore, when you re-enter our retreat, come back and unwind and make the most of lounging by our roaring inglenook fire while enjoying a selection of small plates, shared over a bottle of wine. Take some time out back in the room, then allow our head chef Samuel Squires to craft a delectable menu, which is sure to tingle your taste buds. ​
