The Old Crown has three distinct spaces. The Ballroom Restaurant is our two AA Rosette dining room serving seasonal menus. JJ's Wine and Cocktail Bar is a beautifully designed space for cocktails, wines, and a more intimate atmosphere. The Pub is a traditional English pub with real ales, live music on most Saturdays, and a cosy fire. You can eat in any of the three.
The Old Crown dates from the early 16th century, making it over 500 years old. It was built as a coaching inn on the road between London and the West Country. The building retains medieval stained glass, an Elizabethan staircase (one of only two remaining in England), and Civil War tunnels beneath the cellars. See our History page for the full story.
